| Emulsions are very common in the oil industry and mainly shown as the form of water-in-oil emulsions. It is very important to simulate the preparation of field emulsions in the laboratory for the oilfield ground engineering design. There is no united standard for the preparation of emulsions, while properties of the emulsions vary through different dispersion conditions. The stirring speed of 500r/min,water bath temperature of 50℃ and continual blending time of 10 mins are commonly used in the laboratory. In order to verify whether this method is reliable or not,and to make it clear that how two-phase of liquid-liquid immiscible system works in the emulsification,a series of experiments are done.Emulsification experiments are performed by using a stirred vessel. The influence of water fraction, temperature, stirring speed and time on apparent viscosity and dispersed drop size distribution of water-in-oil emulsions were analyzed in this paper.Specific range of stirring speed for full emulsification condition and the emulsified water fraction were studied.Equivalent methods were found through the different dispersion process. And a formula to calculate the agitation power was given in this research. |
