With the increasing market demand for titanium and titanium alloy dental implant materials and the development of high-tech content dental implant materials,the clinical application of this kind of dental implant has higher requirements on surface activity,corrosion resistance and antibacterial property.Meanwhile,in order to endow the surface functional properties required for titanium and its alloys as dental implants,nano-surface modification has become an effective way to solve this difficult problem.Through this research,Ti-Nb-Zr-Mo medical?-titanium alloy with low modulus and good biocompatibility was used as the matrix material.The anodic oxidation combined with electrochemical method or hydrothermal method were adopted to prepare nanometer potassium titanate biological thin film in situ on titanium alloy surface.The results show that the former is an oxide film with biologically inert and mesoporous structure rather than nanometer potassium titanate biofilm.However,nanometer potassium titanate biofilm with mesh structure formed by staggered nanometer scaly potassium titanate can be obtained by the latter method,and the atom ratio of K,Ti and O is 1:3.1:6.8,which closes to that of K2Ti6O13.Simulated body fluid culture test indicated that nano-potassium titanate biofilm surface shows a certain biological activity.The electrochemical corrosion experiments in simulated body fluids with different pH indicated that nano-potassium titanate biofilms can effectively improve the corrosion resistance of titanium alloys.As a dental implant material,in order to endow the biological film surface with antibacterial function,electrochemical deposition was adopted to make Ag-carrying nanometer potassium titanate biofilm.Bacterial culture experiment results show that the nano titanium potassium biological thin film itself has good antimicrobial properties,and the potassium titanate biofilm surface can deposit nano silver with high antibacterial activities in AgNO3 solution of low concentration,the bacteriostatic rate was close to or up to 100%,and the antibacterial mechanism of the material was also discussed.The Ag-carrying nano potassium titanate biological thin film/beta titanium alloy is expected to become a new antimicrobial dental implant material with potential for development.
