Tourmaline mineral powder material with spontaneous polarity,far-infrared emission performance,release negative ions and biological function of health special performance,have important application prospects in the field of health and environmental protection function of traditional production,such as ceramic and glass.In this work,the transformation mechanism of tourmaline in the preparation process of the iron tailings ceramic composite material and the impact of tourmaline on phase composition,microstructure,the infrared emission performance,bulk density,water absorption rate and bending strength of composites was studied.The impact of tourmaline on softening point and crystallization temperature of microcrystalline ceramic were analysed by TG-DTA and hot stage microscope.Kissniger method was used to calculate the activation energy of microcrystalline ceramic?200256KJ/mol?,it was indicated that dosage of tourmaline could reduce the activation energy,promote the precipitation of crystal nucleus and improve the reaction rate.By analyzing the impact of tourmaline on Phase composition and microstructure of microcrystalline ceramic through SEM,TEM and X-ray diffraction,the transformation mechanism of tourmaline in the preparation process of the iron tailings ceramic composite material preparation was summarized as follow:incorporation of tourmaline could promote the formation of low eutectic material in microcrystalline ceramic and improve the liquidity of the substrate.Thus,tourmaline could move under the interaction force.Due to the composition fluctuation,material exchange will happen between tourmaline and ceramic substrate material.The higher content of Al3+and Fe3+in tourmaline could spread to neighboring grains of crystal nucleus,which could broke the crystal structure of tourmaline.The mix powder consister of ceramic base powder and tourmaline particles were pressed into a cylindrical sample strips.Tourmaline composite iron tailings ceramics was preparated under the temperature of 700?and holding time for 3h.The effect of incorporation of tourmaline on performance of tailing iron tailings microcrystalline ceramic was studied.It indicated that the higher far infrared emissivity?0.933?and bulk density?3.141g/cm3?were obtained when the dosage of tourmaline was 10wt%.Comparing with the iron tailing composites without tourmaline,the incorporation of tourmaline could promote the far infrared emissivity,increase bulk density,reduce water absorption rate and improve bending strength of composites.
