During the Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,the regime changed frequently and the territory was in chaos.A large number of literati and painters created paintings on the theme of Wenji’s return to the Han Dynasty,which was a true historical story happened in the late Han Dynasty.At present,in the study of costume history,especially in Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,there are few examples of painting study from the perspective of costume.Therefore,through the clothing research of this kind of theme painting,we will have a more concrete and indepth understanding of the clothing blending and interaction between Liao,Jin,Yuan and Song Dynasty.This paper takes Wenji Guihan theme painting and Clothes & Accessories in Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties as the main research object,combines documents and unearthed objects,tomb murals,costume comparison in other paintings of the same period,and interdisciplinary comprehensive analysis methods such as iconography,art history,costume culture,etc.,to discuss the consistency and difference between costume and real costume in Wenji Guihan theme painting in Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties.BY this two perspectives,from the creative background of painting,the cultural tendency of society to the interpretation of costume symbols in painting,and then through the clothing reflects the creator’s inner world these gradually deep levels,analyzed the relationship between the clothing in painting and the real clothing.Through the analysis,we know that painting reflects the real clothing to a certain extent,including the horizontal Hu-Han communication,Silk Road exchanges and the vertical inheritance of the culture of the Central Plains of Tang Dynasty;the differences are reflected in the different painting styles of the creators,and clothing as a tool of painting language to convey feelings and reflect the more and more society Deep background of the times and national psychology.Therefore,combing the clothing phenomena in such thematic paintings will help us better understand the development of art history,painting history and clothing history,and enrich the perspective of clothing history for clothing research in this period.
