In order to improve the performance of high-speed bearings,current research at home and abroad are mainly on high-speed water-lubricated spiral groove bearings.However,the cavitation phenomenon of the lubricating medium reduces bearing performance.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the anti-cavitation performance of the bearing.So the cavitation phenomenon of high-speed water-lubricated dynamic pressure spiral groove bearings will be studied in depth.Firstly,the background and significance of the research on high-speed water-lubricated bearings are described and research methods of cavitation phenomenon are analyzed.Combined with the basic working principle of high-speed water-lubricated dynamic pressure spiral groove bearings,overall design of the experiment is completed.According to the experimental requirements,designing and manufacturing radial and thrust sliding bearing cavitation experimental device.Combining the functions of each component,the experimental device is divided into several parts,including drive components,bearing components,image acquisition systems and etc.then introduce each part.Secondly,installation,debugging,experiments and other operations on thrust bearing cavitation experimental device are completed.For the radial bearing cavitation experimental device,the calculation method of the cavitation bubble deployment area is proposed.In the experiment,the value of the tension and pressure sensor was read out,and the curve of the friction torque with the rotation speed of the bearing was plotted.Pictures of the cavitation phenomenon were taken by high-speed photography.Finally,a series of image preprocessing is performed based on cavitation pictures.Two ellipse detection algorithms were programmed and compared.And improved an overlapping ellipse contour detection algorithm to successfully separate overlapping ellipses.Finally,data processing is performed to plot the distribution curve,and the size and distribution rule of cavitation bubble are summarized and analyzed.
