Holographic display,a truly three-dimensional display technology,is one of the most attractive display technology.However,the key optical elements widely used in the holographic display system are in large size.Metasurface,a two-dimensional form of metamaterial,is a planar element composed of anisotropic twodimensional antenna arrays in subwavelength scale.Due to the advantages of small size and the flexibility to control the phase,amplitude and polarization of light,metasurface can meet the ultra-light and ultra-thin demand of holographic optical elements for wide-angle holographic display system.This paper mainly attempts to apply the metasurface optical elements in the field of display technology.A polarization-independent beam deflection element is designed.The designed beam deflection metasurface cells are made of eight different U-shaped silicon antennas with equal amplitude and phase delay interval of 45°.The polarization independence of metasurface cells are verified by theoretical deduction and simulation.On this basis,the beam deflection metasurface ultra-cell is designed and verified on the line polarized light and the circular polarized light.The effects of working wavelength and cell length on beam deflection and polarization independence of the element are analyzed.A kind of hologram element based on silicon antenna geometric phase metasurface is designed.Because geometric phase metasurface has achromatic phase modulation function,three metasurface hologram cells with different size which correspond to red,green and blue are designed by simulation and optimization,while suppressing the response near the non-working band.Based on the research of silicon antenna metasurface element,a metasurface hologram element based on wide-angle imaging is designed.This paper analyzes the factors of wide-angle imaging performance and imaging quality of the metasurface hologram element,the 128×128 of the pattern sampling can meet the requirement of reconstruction of the simple pattern.Based on the design of the silicon antenna metasurface hologram cells,using the joint simulation technology to optimize the arrangement of antenna arrays,a metasurface hologram element with excellent modulation performance is designed,and the speckle effect of imaging quality is improved by multi hologram ultra-cells design based on the concept of Dammann grating.Based on our design of the metasurface hologram element,using the space division multiplexing method,full-color holographic images can be reconstructed.
