High iron bauxite refers to the bauxite in which the content of iron oxide is more than 15%.The traditional process could only recycle the iron or aluminum,that results in the waste of resources.The common methods for recycling the iron or aluminum of high iron bauxite worldwide are separation method of iron and aluminum,the iron comes after aluminum method,biological methods and so on.But these methods can only be applied to few species of high iron bauxite.Now at present,most of the high iron bauxite that found in our country are complex in mineral structure and composition,So the traditional methods can't recycle theiron and aluminum effectively.Through the analysis of the core sample,the results showed that undressed ore iron mainly contains three non magnetic iron oxide?Fe2O3?and aluminum is mainly exist in 3 oxidation 2 aluminum?Al2O3?.The impurity in the run of mine ore mainly are silica?SiO2??Magnesium oxide?MgO??Calcium oxide?CaO?.Based on the characteristics of ore properties and impurities,the process that consist of Magnetization roasting,High pressure melt outand Magnetic separation,could be used to recyle iron and aluminum effectively.The optional experimental conditions for magnetization roasting stage are 270?for 10min,with 20%reducing agent and in N2protective atmosphere in tube furnace.After magnetization roasting,we can get the iron grade of 24.12%in the mine,and 50.87%of aluminum slag.The optional experimental condition for high pressure digestion is 500?for45min.After the high pressure digestion,the grade of total iron is 57.48%,and 15.89%of aluminum in the red mud.After this process,the recovery rate of aluminum is84.62%.The optional conditions for magnetic separation are 0.5A of current strength,1:30 of Solid-liquid ratio and 3s for fine blanking.After this magnetic separation,we can get the total iron grade of 59.36%and aluminum grade of 14.45%.As a result,the total iron recovery rate is 85.95%.Based on the whole experiment process,iron and aluminum of the high iron bauxite can be fully recycled and impurities can be removed effectively.Thealuminum can be fully recycled in the stage of High pressure digestion.After the magnetic separation process,the iron concentration meets the requirements of the iron ore concentrate grade,and could be used directly.In this way,the iron and aluminum of the high iron bauxite are effectively separated and recycled.
