Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are important toxic and hazardous organic pollutants,more than 200 PAHs were found in environment and most of them were carcinogen,teratogen and mutagen such as benzene and pyrene(Bap),benzene and anthracene(Baa).Due to over-usage of fossil fuels,PAHs were ubiquitous,especially,were adsorbed in atmospheric particles,which were direct impect on human health.Therefore,PAHs in atmospheric particles were aoused a wordwide concern of researchers and become hot topic of environmental chemistry.The pollution levels,source apportionment and health risk assessment of PAHs in atmospheric TSP and PM10 particles of Hohhot,Ordos,Chifeng and Tongliao of Inner Mongolia were investigated in this paper.16 kinds of PAHs were determined by GC-MS,factor analysis method was applyied to identify the source of PAHs,exposure model,non-cancer risk and cancer risk assessment model to evalueate the heath risks for human.The studies reach the following conclusions:(1)The pollutants levels of non-cancer PAHs and cancer PAHs in atmospheric particle of TSP of major cities(Hohhot,Ordos,Chifeng and Tongliao)in Inner Mongolia were 12.14-271.5 ng/m3 and 11.44-217.0 ng/m3,while pollutants levels of non-cancer PAHs and cancer PAHs in PM10 were 9.36-164.6 ng/m3 and 12.27-189.2 ng/m3,respectively.(2)Factor analysis method for identifing the sources of PAHs can be concluded that the major sources of PAHs in TSP and PM10 in atmospheric particles of main cities(Hohhot,Ordos,Chifeng and Tongliao)of Inner Mongolia ame from natural gas and coal combustion,emition of coke oven and motor vehicle exhaust gas.(3)Respiration exposure model reaches the conclusion as the following:the population risk levels of PAHs in TSP and PM10 in atmospheric particles of main cities(Hohhot,Ordos,Chifeng and Tongliao)of Inner Mongolia were 10-4-10-6,which is in the acceptable range levels and the risk level of PAHs both in TSP and PM10 in winter is higher than that of in summer.(4)Non-cancer risk and cancer risk assessment model reaches the conclusion as the following:the non-cancer risk and cancer risk of PAHs for man is greater than that of women in TSP and PM10 in atmospheric particles of main cities(Hohhot,Ordos,Chifeng and Tongliao)of Inner Mongolia.Non-cancer and cancer risk on 3-6 years old and 65-75 years old people are the highest in different age groups.Non-cancer and cancer risk of extreme sports are the greatest in different short time respiration model.Non-cancer and cancer risk of Ordos is the highest and chifeng is lowest in long time repiration model.
