Carbon fiber composites have been widely used in many fields due to its superior properties.There are some superior performances in the carbon fiber composites,such as high toughness and high strength.However,these features also increase the difficulty of processing.As a new type of material,carbon fiber composites have become the research hotspot.The larger cutting force and higher cutting temperature is needed in cutting carbon fiber composites,which will speed up the tool wear and reduce the service life of cutter.Therefore,the analysis of machining simulation for carbon fiber composites is of great significance for practical production.The main work of this paper is as follows:The method of mechanics and structure analysis and several common strength criterions of carbon fiber composites are studied.According to the characteristics and cutting mechanism of the carbon fiber composites,the application of super-hard electroplated abrasive drill and the model of scales cutter are proposed.The cutting mechanism of carbon fiber composites is analyzed.According to th'study of carbon fiber damage and tool wear,the effects of cuttir3g speed and tool wear on the residual stress has been obtained.The floating changes are very great in initial phase while the whole trends are basically the same.The distribution of residual stress at different locations on the surface of carbon fiber composites that is random.Aiming at the carbon fiber composites,the model building and simulation analysis is carried out.First of all,the process of establishing finite element model in ABAQUS software onvironment is described and analyzed in detail,including model building,inputs of material properties,definition of the separation and fracture between chip and work-piece,definition of the contact and fracture between chip and tool,refined local grid and so on.Secondly,the anisotropy of carbon fiber composites is verified through tensile simulation.Thirdly,the simulation model of carbon fiber composites is established by application of entity deformable Shell element.After the dynamic simulation analysis of the modeL the material stress and each single stress state are obtained.The change rule of the cutting force in machining process and the change rule of cutting force at different cutting speeds are analyzed.The impacts of the tool parameters on the damage types of carbon fiber composites are studied by Hashin failure criterion.which can provide a reference for the optimization of cuttirtg parameters of carbon fiber composite material and tool parameters.
