| Clothing is human’s second skin,and is a necessity of daily life.In order to make clothing play a better role,firstly we need to pay attention to human body’s study,and design and make clothes according to human body’s characteristics and requirements.People have been in a state of relative motion,and it was divided into two types:forced movements(like shiver in cole weather)and active movements(like running or swimming et al.).When we are doing exercises,human body will perform physiological and psychological responses.However,there is little study focusing on systematicly quantitative study in relative field on these responses.The same gap can be found from clothing point of view as well.According to domestic and foreign related references about people’s physiological and psychological responses when they were doing exercises,this research focused on measuring multiple variables accurately to improve reliability and validity of results on people’s physiological and psychological responses.In addition,correlation analysis was used to discuss the relationship between physiological and psychological responses by deviding upper body into several departments.This research is helpful for the future clothing fabric and structure design on different body regions and functions.In the first place,domestic and foreign methods of evaluation and measurement on body physiological and psychological responses were mentioned to decide two exercise intensities,5 variables for physiological responses,3 variables for psychological responses,and 8 body regions in the experiment protocol.In the second place,preliminaty experiment was carried out to selected 24 qualified subjects through fixed body surface area and body fat.Then their body sizes were measured,exercise intensities’ heart rates were estimated,subjective evaluations were practiced,and experiment materials were prepared.In the third place,5 pilot studies were implemented to adjust and improve experiment protocol.In the final experiment,heart rate watch and physiological monitor system were used to survey heart rate and body core temperature second by second.Average skin temperatures were measured by thermal infrared imager at three different measurement periods.Weight difference method and absorb sweat patch method were used to calculate gross sweat rate and regional sweat rate.Subjective evaluations were asked during the tests in thermal sensation,thermal comfort,and wetness sensation.Data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0.Results showed that(1)At high exercise intensity,four physiological responses and three psychological responses showed significant differences with medium exercise intensity.It means that as the increase of exercise intensity,physiological and psychological responses had obvious changes.(2)At two exercise intensities,skin temperature of five torso regions presented more significant differences than anterior and posterior arms and face.Reginal sweat rate of anterior and posterior arms were lower than than torso regions,and upper back had the highest sweat rate.Thermal sensation at intensity 2 was much higher than intensity 1 except for lower back,while evaluation differences between body regions were not alike at two intensities.Body regions’ differences had a few changes at two intensities in thermal comfort and wetness sensation.(3)There was no significant corelationship between body core temperature and gross sweat rate and thermal sensation,thermal comfort,and wetness sensation.Only a few body regions had correlationship between physiological and psychological responses,which showed in chest,abdomen,armpits,upper back,lower back,and arms back. |
