Polycyclic musks,which has the advantages of good durable aroma and fine quality,is of great need on the market after macrocyclic musk.Tonalide musk is a representative one.The methods used for synthesizing tonalide musk has been systematically studied in this paper,which contain the synthesis of 3,3-dimethyl-1-butene and the intermediate of tonalide musk 1,1,3,4,4,6-hexamethyl-1,2,3,4-tetralin(HMT).Using tert-butyl alcohol as starting material,neohexene is obtained after chlorination,addition and elimination.In the process of getting neohexyl chloride from the addition of tert-butyl chloride and ethylene,a Si-Al complex catalyst was used to replace aluminium trichloride,with advantage in reduced amount of catalyst and higher yield of more than 87%.In the elimination reaction,neohexene was given in 82%yield after the optimization of acid-binding agent and solvent.The solvent had also been recycled 5 times with 70%yield.The yield could reach 55%and 59%respectively when using 2,3-dimethyl-l-butene(DMB)and neohexene as raw material through batch-type reaction in synthesizing HMT after optimization.Continuous process was further researched and HMT was given in 63%yield when used DMB as raw material.The byproduct was reduced at the same time.Acetyl chloride was used as acylation reagent to react with HMT in synthesizing AHMT.97%yield could be obtained after the optimization of catalyst and solvent.The improved process is easier to handle.The three wastes are reduced and equipment requirements are lowered,which has potential industrial value. |
