It is unavoidable that the spent nuclear fuel will be produced in the process of development of nuclear power,and the high-level liquid waste?HLW?would also produce in the postprocessing of the spent nuclear fuel.Although the volume of the HLW is no more than 1%to the total volume of the radioactive waste which produce in the recycle process of nuclear fuel,but the radioactivity is more than 99%.It brings huge potential hazards to human and environment and has become a major obstacle to sustainable development of nuclear power.Based on the method of partitioning and transmutation?P&T?,these long-lived nuclides need to be separated from HLW and translated into short-lived nuclides in order to decrease the damages to the invironment.This paper introduces the development of nuclear power in the world and the problems it faces,and summarizes the main separation methods of high level radioactive waste and the research progress based on XAD series resin adsorbents.C7-BTBP was synthesized and XAD-7 resin as inert carrier,C7-BTBP was impregnated into XAD-7 resin to obtain C7-BTBP/XAD-7 absorbent material.The structure and stability was studied by SEM,N 2 adsorption-desorption and TGA.The experimental results show that C7-BTBP/XAD-7has porous structure and good stability,The average pore size is 31.98 nm.The adsorption performance of Pd?II?and other elements onto the C7-BTBP/XAD-7 was investigated.The effects of temperature,HNO3concentration and contact time were examined?The results showed that:The adsorption of Pd?II?by C7-BTBP/XAD-7 reached equilibrium in 10minutes at 298 K with a nitric acid concentration of 3M;at 298K with a contact time of 120min,with HNO3 concentration increasing from 0.4M to6.0M,Kd values of Pd?II?increased gradually to a maximum at 4.0 M HNO 3;in 3.0M HNO3 solution with a contact time of 120min,temperature ranging from 298K to 318K,the Kd values of Pd?II?and Mo?VI?decreased with temperature increasing from 298K to 318K.it was found that the adsorption feature of Pd?II?by C7-BTBP/XAD7 could be better fitted with Langmuir model.
