Rupture disc has been one of the most effective equipment to prevent overpressure from explosion for the pressure equipment.As safety device,rupture disc will burst in the set pressure and release the pressure to protect other equipment.The ability of bursting at the predetermined pressure is critical to rupture disc,which was decided directly with the dimensional accuracy of the rupture disc such as thickness,radius value and arch height of rupture disc.Hydroforming is one of the main techniques in the process of rupture disc making and has the advantages of low-cost,small resilience value and high flexible manufacturing ability.In this paper,rupture disc is made of 316L.Rupture disc's forced condition during the hydroforming process was analyzed and the conclusion was proposed that there is a divided circle in the whole surface of rupture disc.Inside this divided circle,rupture disc's thickness decreased.But thickness increased at the place between the divided circle and holding device.In the real production condition,multi-group of rupture discs were made through different water pressures and every arch height of rupture disc were acquired.In order to evaluate the accuracy of rupture disc top part thinning ratio,rupture disc which was made under 53MPa water pressure was cut in half by WEDM.Rupture disc's microstructure was measured through the Super Depth-of-field Microscope to prove the existence of divided circle.In this paper,a hydroforming FEA rupture disc model was established and factors that affect the dimensional accuracy of the rupture disc,which is friction coefficient,loading rate and value of hydraulic pressure,were discussed.It was found that solely controlled the arch height through pressure value can lead to the decrease of load bearing ability,a better rupture disc dimension accuracy can be obtained by changing the friction condition and loading rate.Based on the real hydroforming process,experiment was carried out and FEA results agreed well with experimental process result.Thus,dimensional accuracy of the rupture disc can be ensured through Finite Element Analysis.This has potential value for the production process of rupture disc.This paper provides important theoretical basis for the hydroforming of rupture disc.It is significant for ensuring rupture disc's dimensional accuracy and the ability to burst in the predetermined pressure.
