In recent years,with the rapid development of China's aerospace,defense,shipbuilding,equipment and other industries,the demand for complex curved surface products is increasing rapidly.As the last working procedure of complex surface machining,grinding and polishing plays an important role on product' performance improvement.At present,in our country,the grinding and polishing process of complex curved surface products still mainly rely on manual operation of workers.In poor working conditions,manual operation of workers is not only inefficient,but also difficult to guarantee the quality of products.In order to solve the problem that complex surface mainly rely on manual operation,scholars at home and abroad study the automatic grinding and polishing technology,and have achieved some corresponding results.In this paper,based on extensive access to relevant literature,robot automatic flexible grinding and polishing system was established,and study on related theory and process experiment are carried out.The main contents are summarized as follows:(1)With the industrial robot as the core,robot automatic grinding and polishing system is built.The working process of the system and the corresponding function of each part are introduced in detail.According to the actual situation of the workpiece surface,the system can automatically finish the flexible machining of grinding and polishing.(2)The pressure distribution between the plane,curved surface and flexible abrasive disk is analyzed,and based on analysis of abrasive disk speed in working process,the material removal model under two kinds of contact conditions was obtained.By studying the influence of main process parameters on the material removal profile,theoretical support is provided for the following experiment.(3)A pneumatic floating grinding tool and a flexible polishing tool are designed,and the structure and function of the grinding tool are described emphasisly.By carrying out corresponding static analysis and frequency analysis using the finite element method,the feasibility of grinding tools in theory is verified.The performance tests are carried out respectively on grinding and polishing tool and results show that the two tools can meet the processing requirements of the system.(4)By designing and performing the orthogonal experiment of process factors,the influence of main process parameters on the surface roughness was analyzed.Based on developed process planning,the actual polishing experiment was carried out.Finally,high precision plane and curved surface workpiece which surface is smooth and delicate with mirror effect are obtained.
