Dyeing waste-water has become one of the major sources of industrial waste-water.Therefore,this dissertation aims to treat dyeing waste-water through novel methods.This study is based on a natural polymer material-cotton,with wide source,environmental protection and non-toxicity.Modifying molecules and microstructures to get highly cationized cotton and high adsorption properties of the dye.Achieve the purpose of efficient purifying dyeing waste-water.The main content includes the synthesis,properties and mechanism of polycationic cotton-based adsorbents,as the following aspects:1.Synthesis,properties and mechanism of reactive cationic grafted cottonThrough the patented technology of independent innovation,triethanolamine was used to reduce the crystallinity of cotton to improve the efficiency of grafting reaction.so that the cationic reagent.The cationic reagent,3-chloro-2-hydroxypropylmethyldiallylammoniumchloride(CMDA),was highly grafted to forming the cationic grafted cotton(G-cotton).On the one hand,the G-cotton adsorption capacity of anionic dyes was 15.70 times of that of activated carbon.On the other hand,based on the reactivity of unsaturated double bonds in the G-cotton structure,it can lay a solid foundation for novel derivatives of cotton-based absorbent products with super performance in further research.2.Synthesis,properties and mechanism of polycationic cottonIn order to realize the highly efficient purification of dyeing waste-water,we designed the polycationic film coated on cotton.G-cotton and a conventional cationic monomer(dimethyldiallylammoniumchloride)were copolymerized in situ on the cotton surface to obtain film coated cotton(PC-cotton)The degree of cationic substitution was 0.129,which was 1.9 times higher than that of cation G-cotton.The adsorption capacity is 17.4 times higher than that of activated carbon and 160.5 times that of untreated cotton.The polycationic segment of the PC-cotton structure creates a new inductive effect on the anionic dye in water,playing an important role in speeding up the adsorption,and its adsorption rate is 2.8 times higher than that of G-cotton.3.Synthesis,properties and mechanism of long chain alkylated polycationic cottonA one-pot polymerization system using tetradecyl allyldimethylammonium chloride(TADMAC)and grafting cotton with unsaturated bonds(G-cotton)was designed to synthesize novel long-chain alkylation polycationic cotton(LP-cotton)and the homopolymer of TADMAC(PTADMAC).When only LP-cotton was used as the adsorbent,its long-chain alkylation cationic TADMAC unit played the role of a similar surfactant in enhancing the association between the dye and cotton surface,resulting in a great improvement in adsorption capacity.The adsorption capacities were 57.5,531.7,4.4 and 2.9 times higher than those of the widely used activated carbon,untreated cotton,G-cotton,and polycationic film-coated cotton(PC-cotton),respectively.Moreover,the combined use of the LP-cotton adsorbent and PTADMAC flocculant decreased the dye removal time to 10 s.4.Synthesis,properties and mechanism of multi-dimensional polycationized cottonA surface cross-linked co-polymerization of triallylmethylammonium chloride(TAMAC)and grafting cotton with unsaturated bonds(G-cotton)was designed to obtain multidimensional cationic cotton adsorbent(PT-cotton).A surface gel-adsorption effect of the multidimensional cationic construction on cotton surface occurring during PT-cotton adsorption was discovered resulting in the PT-cotton having an ultrahigh adsorption capacity for purifying dyeing waste-water.Compared to the untreated cotton and the widely used activated carbon,the adsorption capacity of the PT-cotton was 1344.10 and 145.3 times higher.,and it was 11.1,7.25 and 2.4times higher,than that of the similar G-cotton,PC-cotton and LP-cotton,respectively.5.Synthesis,properties and mechanism of remote induced polycationized cottonA new poly(acrylethyltrimethylammoniumchloride) cotton(PA-cotton)with flexible long-chain cations was prepared by surface polymerization of acrylethyltrimethylammonium chloride and grafting cotton.Based on the long-distance flexible inductive effect occurred during PA-cotton adsorption,causing a highly efficient purification ability for treating dyeing waste-water.The adsorption capacity of PA-cotton was 292.18 and 2702.70 times higher than that of the widely used activated carbon and common natural cotton,respectively.and it was 24.2,14.6,5.1 and 2.0 times higher,respectively,than that of the similar G-cotton,PC-cotton,LP-cotton and PT-cotton.At the same time,the adsorption rate of PA-cotton was also17.9,6.4,5.2 and 34.0 times higher than the previous four series of products,namely G-cotton,PC-cotton,LP-cotton and PT-cotton.Therefore,PA-cotton has achieved breakthroughs in increasing adsorption capacity and adsorption rate.
