Analysis Of The Influence Mechanism Of Foreign Direct Investment On Environmental Pollution In China

Since the reform and opening up,the Chinese economy has developed at an unprecedented rate.At the same time of the rapid development of China's economy,the various drawbacks of the "extensive" economic growth mode have gradually emerged.The discharge of pollutants is large,involving a wide range,and environmental pollution is very serious.As of 2016,the discharge of major pollutants such as industrial waste water,waste slag and waste gas in China has been at a high level of about 20 million tons.China's environmental carrying capacity is about to exceed or approach the upper limit.In recent years,the issue of environmental pollution has become the focus of social attention.Scholars have conducted research on environmental pollution from different perspectives of economic development.This paper intends to study its impact on China's environmental pollution from the perspective of foreign direct investment.From the existing research,most of the literatures are from a direct perspective,using the econometric model to analyze the degree of impact of foreign direct investment on the environment,and there is no literature to explore the intermediary mechanism of foreign investment into the environment.On this basis,this paper establishes a dynamic panel data model and introduces a mediating effect to investigate and verify the impact of foreign direct investment on China's environmental pollution,and draws corresponding conclusions,and proposes targeted policy recommendations.First of all,this paper puts forward the problems and research significance of this paper based on the status of China's economic development,the level of attracting foreign investment and the status of environmental pollution.On this basis,this paper collects,summarizes and organizes the existing literatures on foreign direct investment and environmental pollution.Based on the existing literature,combined with the theory of foreign direct investment and environmental pollution,this paper analyzes the foreign direct investment.The transmission mechanism of environmental pollution impact is divided into three mediating effects of scale,structure and technology,and corresponding research hypotheses are proposed for different mediating effects.Secondly,in the context of the above theoretical analysis and research hypothesis,a series of variables needed by empirical research are selected,and the data of each province are processed by mathematical and economic methods.Based on the data of 30 provinces in China from 2006 to 2015,this paper constructs a dynamic panel data model and conducts empirical analysis of foreign direct investment and environmental pollution.The results show that the entry of foreign capital has aggravated the domestic environmental pollution to a certain extent,and the scale,The three mediating effects of structure and technology are significant.At the same time,in order to study the regional differences in the impact of foreign capital on China's environment,the 30 provinces studied in this paper are divided into two control groups in the east and the central and western regions,and empirical research is carried out respectively.The results show that foreign direct investment is in the central and western regional environment.The degree of pollution is significantly stronger than in the eastern region.Finally,based on the above theoretical analysis and empirical research results,this paper argues that foreign direct investment has intensified China's environmental pollution in the context of China's current economic development level.At the same time,combined with China's current development issues,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations:First,change the economic development mode,change the "extensive type" to "intensive type";second,increase the entry threshold for foreign investment,strengthen the mainland environment Third,focus on foreign investment "quality",increase scientific and technological research and development efforts,and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction from technology;Fourth,optimize performance evaluation standards,pay attention to environmental protection,and promote green sustainable development.
