Research On The Control Of Nozzle Clogging In The Continuous Casting

Nozzle is an important functional refractory in the continuous casting process.However,the nozzle clogging in the continuous casting process often causes and would influence the continuous casting production and steel quality.There are many factors militated against the nozzle clogging,the compound continuous casting nozzle and the sealing element of continuous casting nozzle were studied by means of the experimental research and the field investigation in this paper.The research results showed that the prevention of Al2O3 adhesion by using spinel material was better than that of by using Al2O3-C material,the bonding strength of Al2O3-C-spinel material could be increased by using the liquid or solid resin as binder and the bonding method like tooth surface.The developed new type sealing element of continuous casting nozzle showed an excellent using performance,and could meet together the shape-retaining ability at room temperature,useful time at high temperature and sealing ability.The increment of[N]was 0-10 ppm,average increment of[N]was 4.5 ppm and the average increment of[N]was reduced 62.9%when used the new type sealing element.
