Research On Land Use Change And Ecological Security Pattern In Tong'an District Of Xiamen City

Rapid industrialization and urbanization,with the rapid growth of construction land,promote social and economic development,as well as bring about the sustainable development of the regional ecological environment is under tremendous pressure.In this study,the Tong'an District of Xiamen City is the study area.Based on remote sensing and geographic information technology,we monitored and analyzed the land use change,and how ecological environment quality and the ecological security pattern change under influence of land use change from 1996 to 2015.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)From 1996 to 2015,woodland,farmland and construction land had changed dramatically.During this time,woodland increased about 122.66 km2,construction land increased about 49.59 km2,while farmland decreased about 148.78km2.Comparing the date time from 1996 to 2006 and from 2006 to 2015,the Integrated land use dynamic index increased,from 30.33% up to 51.13%,while the single land use dynamics index was more complicated.Except the single land use dynamics index of woodland and grassland decreased,other types of the single land use dynamics index increased.Landscape pattern index of class metrics showed that woodland and construction land distribution were more centralized,which patches decreased,the fragmentation level decreased.While other land use types,the fragmentation level enhanced.Landscape pattern index of landscape metrics showed that the hole landscape enhanced the fragmentation level,as well as heterogeneity,landscape connectivity and agglomeration.(2)The mean RSEI of Tong'an District in 1996,2006 and 2015,were 0.6581,0.5506 and 0.6252.which showed the ecological environment quality grade changed from ood to Medium to ood.From 1996 to 2006,the area of ecological environment quality change for worse was about 336.29 km2.From 2006 to 2015,the area of ecological environment quality change for better was about 256.30 km2.From1996 to 2015,Ranking the mean RSEI of each town or street,it showed that except the Xike town got worse to worse,accounted itself from NO.5 drop to the last,the ranking of other town or street were steady.Taking government policy and DP into a simply RSEI change driving factors discussion,we thought the change of ecological environment quality were related to the level of policies,economic development andpeople's demand for the quality of the ecological environment.(3)By analyzing the change of ecological security pattern from 1996 to 2015,it showed the ecological security level of Tong'an District had gradually improved,which meanly manifested ecological source region,ecological security buffer,ecological corridor and ecological node.From 1996 to 2015,ecological source region area was from 263.35 km2 up to 386.44km2,and its distribution was more balance.The high ecological buffer influenced by ecological source region was from 472.50km2 up to 544.51km2.the number of potential ecological corridors were from 33 up to 64,while the average length was from 2.5 km drop to 1.44 km.it means the distance between source region became shorter.The number of ecological nodes were from 13 up to 24,also some nodes with a better quality came into being the important source region,which located mainly in Wuxian Town and Hongtang Town.An radiation channel,which is from west to east,along the Shenhai Expressway,became potential connected corridors.(4)We support some advices for optimizing the ecological security pattern.(1)Expanding ecological sources region by improving the ecological environment quality where is near or surrounding by ecological source region.(2)Strengthening the protection of ecological nodes,which is important “stepping stone”.(3)Improving build-up area environment by constructing ecological networks,which is helpful to improve the radiation effect of ecological sources on urban areas.(4)Constructing ecologically safe water system and shelterbelt based on comprehensive management of small watersheds.Finally,we propose to construct an ecological protection framework for guiding distribution of construction land and ecological protection area?This framework is ecological security barrier based on ecological source region and networks constructed by surrounding the build-up area ecological corridor,road protection corridors and river ecological corridors.The matrix in the frame is filled by urban construction land and agricultural production land.(5)The characteristics of land use,ecological quality and ecological security in Tong'an District of Xiamen City,were apparent in different stages of urbanization.The ecological security pattern of Tong'an District was at a low security level before the accelerated development of urbanization,a medium security level in the accelerated development stage of urbanization and a high security level in the late stage of urbanization.Land use change showed the area of cultivated land reduced,while theforest land and construction land increased.The ecological quality declined from1996 to 2006,then rised from 2006 to 2015.
