Circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)refers to the properties of chiral chromophore systems that emit different intensity of left-handed circularly polarized light and right-handed circularly polarized light. It has potential application prospect in 3D displays and liquid-crystal optical technologies, optical data storage, chemical sensors and so on,and attracts extensive research interest.Various CPL materials have been found, but there has been a few research about their improved properties and realization of practical application. Therefore, developing CPL materials with high glum and strong fluorescence emission is of great significance. In this dissertation,we designed and synthesized chiral binaphthyl-based circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs)material and CPL liquid crystal material with high glum. The main works of this dissertation are as follows:1.A couple of AIE-active chiral polymer enantiomers incorporating 1,1' binaphthol as the chiral source were synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction. The target polymer enantiomers can exhibit excellent chiroptical properties with mirror-image CD and CPL signals in film state. The doping-free CP-OLEDs employing this kind of AIE-active chiral conjugated polymer enantiomers as the emitting layers can exhibit strong green CP-EL with gEL up to 0.024.2.We synthesized a couple of chiral enantiomers incorporating 1,1'-binaphthol as the chiral source and the carbazole derivatives as chromophore. The target chiral enantiomers exhibit typical AIE feature, they can emit orange fluorescence in aggregate state.By investigating their chirality activity,we found that they can exhibit obvious CD and CP-EL signals.By doping into liquid crystal E7,new chiral emissive nematic liquid crystals(N*-LCs)with helically twisted structure were obtained due to both dipolar interactions from polar cyano groups and ?-? interactions between aromatic rings.High gium up to 0.56 was obtained.
