Traditional tank level measurement methods have many problems,such as low automation,poor measurement accuracy,single measurement parameters,poor stability and inconsistent measurement units.In order to solve this problem,a vehicle digital fuel meter based on magnetostrictive principle is proposed in this paper.The oil gauge integrates magnetostrictive effect,buoyancy principle and electromagnetic induction principle.It has the advantages of high measurement accuracy,large measurement range and good stability.It also uses the general CAN bus of automobile to output data,which is convenient for data processing and display.Firstly,through the analysis and comparison of various traditional liquid level sensors,on the basis of summarizing their advantages and disadvantages,the advantages of magnetostrictive liquid level sensor in liquid level measurement are obtained through comparison.Secondly,the operation principle and oil measuring method of magnetostrictive content gage are introduced in detail.Then,the mechanical structure,hardware circuit and the design of liquid level measuring program of magnetostrictive liquid level sensor are discussed in detail.In terms of mechanical structure,including the selection of waveguide wire material and the design of movable float,especially by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of piezoelectric ceramic receiving method,torsion plate receiving method and solenoid receiving method,the design scheme of magnetostrictive transducer with solenoid receiving method as the main body is determined.In the design of hardware circuit,the design of pulse amplifier circuit,echo detection circuit,high precision timing circuit,temperature measurement circuit,CAN bus output circuit and power circuit are given.Finally,the performance test and error analysis of the test prototype are carried out,and the corresponding improvement scheme is given.Meanwhile,the practical value of the system is evaluated,and the shortcomings of the system and the corresponding improvement direction are given.It can be seen from the measured data of the test prototype,the digital vehicle fuel meter based on magnetostriction principle proposed in this paper not only meets the design requirements in stability and accuracy,but also has the advantages of low power consumption and high compatibility.It satisfies the requirements of actual vehicle fuel measurement very well and has high application value.
