With the increase of the population and the continuous rapid development of the catering industry,the production of food waste is increasing annually,whose harm is enormous.Using aerobic composting technology to deal with food waste has great social and economic benefits.In order to design and research the aerobic composting reactor which can realize small footprint,odor controllable,low energy consumption,good ventilation effect and good stirring effect.The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly,through the functional integration and structural optimization,a rotational drum reactor used in food waste aerobic composting was designed that combines the advantages of a forced aeration static pile and a horizontal rotary cylinder.Secondly,the software Fluent was used to simulate and analyze the stirring effect of the rotational drum reactor.Comparing the flow field of the drum reactor with different plate height,different speed and different helix number,the optimum parameters combination of stirring effect was obtained.Thirdly,the software Fluent was used to simulate and analyze the flow field in the rotational drum reactor,which was static during most fermentation periods.The slow air velocity areas were contrasted to determine the arrangement of two ventilating pipes at the bottom of the drum.Fourthly,a rotational drum reactor used in food waste aerobic composting was tested.The effects of three parameters on the aerobic compost temperature rise of food waste were studied by experiments with small drum fermentation.
