High wear resistant coatings have high research value in aerospace, electronics, military, and automotive industries. The development of science and technology has increased the requirements for mechanical properties such as hardness and wear resistance of coatings continuously.Although the traditional coatings prepared by plasma spray technology is relatively mature, and spray method is difficult to greatly improve the mechanical properties of the coatings. Therefore, the enhancement materials with excellent performance in mechanical properties is compounded with the coatings, and used air plasma spray method to prepare the wear-resistant TiC0.7N0.3 composite coating, compounded different kinds of material Ti form a new composite materials is the key research direction in the field of coating research. In this study,Ni coated carbon fibers/Ni coated graphene was added to the TiC0.7N0.3coating to improve the mechanical properties of the composite coatings.Electroless Ni coatings on the surface of carbon fiber/graphene under acidic conditions is designed to avoid burning of carbon fibers/graphene during plasma spray process, thereby the Ni coatings on the surface of enhancement materials are improving the interfacial bonding properties between the carbon fiber/graphene and coatings;and the research discussed the mechanism of the content of stabilizer in the electroless liquid influenced on the quality of the Ni coatings. The Ni coated carbon fiber and the Ni coated graphene were ball-mixed with the granulated TiC0.7N0.3 powder separately, and the Ni coated carbon fibers enhanced the TiC0.7N0.3composite coating?CFT coating?and the Ni coated grapheme enhanced TiC0.7N0.3.3 composite coatings?GRT coating?were prepared by plasma spraying method. The surface morphology and phase composition of Ni coated carbon fiber,Ni-plated graphene and TiC0.7N0.3 composite coatings were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy?SEM?,X-ray diffraction?XRD?and energy dispersive spectroscopy?EDS?.It was found that the Ni coatings were wrapped on the surface of carbon fiber and graphene successfully, and the Ni coatings were consisted by a large amount of amorphous and a small amount of crystallized Ni-P coating. Moreover, the Ni coated carbon fibers and the Ni coated graphene avoided the reinforcement materials burning, and Ni coatings make the carbon fibers and grapheme presented in the coating in the form of fibers and flakes, respectively. The micro-hardness test, the friction and wear test and the erosion performance test were performed on the coatings of the two systems. The results show that the addition of Ni coated carbon fibers and Ni coated graphene improved the microhardness, wear resistance and anti-friction performance and erosion performance of the composite coating, and reduces the generation of wear debris during erosion and friction to increase the comprehensive mechanical properties of the composite coatings.
