China has always been a big producer of freshwater pearls.With the development of economy,the jewelry industry has become an important industry.The status of design in the industry has been gradually improved.The design of pearl jewelry has become the focus of designers.In this paper,the development and characteristics of pearls in jewelry design are taken as the main research objects,and the design methods of pearls in jewelry are discussed.Pearls have the historical charm of human civilization for thousands of years.They are the warmth and sanctity after the precipitation of years.People’s preference for pearls also gives pearls countless beautiful implications.Pearl is the only organic gemstone bred by life.It has unique and rich shape,colorful halo and exclusive Pearl luster.This makes pearls recognized in various fields,but also has the status of "jewelry queen".In the brilliant jewelry kingdom,pearl jewelry is influenced by social culture from the symbol of power status of the royal nobility to the present decorative performance.Therefore,pearl jewelry is also a cultural product,which is the product of humanities,art,decoration and other cultural forms.This paper mainly analyses the pearl jewelry in Asia and Europe.By studying the basic characteristics of pearls and the brief history of Pearl culture,it combs the types,colors and the evolution of pearl jewelry style.Through the analysis of pearl jewelry design originality,subject matter extraction,material collocation,color selection,shape characteristics,processing technology and other aspects,and combined with the Enlightenment of other fields,this paper probes into the design methods of Pearl jewelry,further studies the wearing rules and brand value of pearls,hoping to design Chinese characteristic pearl jewelry in line with the trend of the times,in order to apply the essence of Chinese traditional jewelry.Look for more inspiration in the design of Pearl jewelry,add cultural charm to our modern pearl jewelry,and show the culture with Chinese characteristics.Finally,the method is validated by the design works.
