Carbon fibers have been widely used in aerospace,motor vehicles,medical field,wind power,daily necessities and so on,due to its high modulus,good chemical stability,good electrical conductivity,good thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance.However,the wettability and interfacial reactivity of the carbon fibers are so poor that the interface bonding of the carbon fiber reinforced silicone resin composite is weak,which greatly limits the reinforcing effect of the carbon fibers on the carbon fiber reinforced silicone resin composite.The excellent properties of silicone resin such as high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance also determine the performance of carbon fiber reinforced silicone resin composites,and the properties of different silicone resins are also different.Therefore,it is best to select silicone resin with excellent performance.The curing process is also critical to the performance of carbon fiber reinforced silicone composites.Therefore,this paper studies the modification of carbon fiber and the best curing process of carbon fiber reinforced silicone resin composites.In this paper,a simple and effective method is adopted to avoid complicated chemical reaction and long processing time,and to increase the interfacial bonding force between carbon fiber and silicone resin without damaging the strength of carbon fiber.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron spectroscopy(EDS)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),dynamic contact angle analysis,universal testing machine,and composite interface evaluation device were used to characterize and test the modified carbon fibers.The results show that the tensile strength of the silver-loaded carbon fibers after grafting TESPA is as high as 5.68 GPa,and the tensile strength is improved.The surface energy of the silver-loaded carbon fibers after grafting TESPA increased by 53.48%.The introduction of Ag nanoparticles and TESPA increased the interfacial shear strength(IFSS)of carbon fibers reinforced silicone composites by 56.1%.The interlaminar shear strength(ILSS)and flexural strength(TS)of the TESPA-grafted carbon fiber composites were also significantly improved.The ILSS reached 36.4 MPa,which was 35.3% higher than that of the original silk composites,and the TS reached 362.51 MPa.The composite material increased by 50.39%.The above results show that the silver-loaded carbon fibers grafted with TESPA have been successfully prepared,and the interfacial properties between the two have been improved.The mechanical properties of the prepared carbon fiber reinforced silicone resin composite have been significantly improved.
