The thin-walled tube has the characteristics of high strength ratio,high stiffness ratio and stable crushing mode.Therefore,the thin-walled tube is regarded as an ideal passive crashworthy protection structure and has been widely applied in the fields of automobile,railway and aerospace.Fiber reinforced composite material has the characteristics of light,strong mechanical properties and strong design ability.Aluminum foam has the characteristics of light,strong impact resistance ability and strong energy absorption capacity.Therefore,reinforcing thin-walled tube with fiber reinforced composite material and aluminum foam can greatly improve the crashworthiness performance of thin-walled components.The main work in the dissertation includes:(1)Based on the previous research,the theoretical model and the corresponding analytical method of axial crush of fiber reinforced and foam filled metal tapered square / hexagon tube are proposed,and the predicted formula of average axial crushing force of the tube is proposed.With the existing experimental results,simply verify the feasibility of the analytical method of this dissertation.Compared with the experimental and numerical methods,the theoretical model can reveal the axial collapse mechanism of the tube,saving the experimental cost and calculation time,and giving the theoretical reference in the engineering application.(2)Establish the finite element model of axial crush of fiber reinforced and foam filled metal tapered square / hexagon tube,and verify the degraded finite element model with experimental data.The accuracy of the analytical model is further verified by FEM simulation.The numerical simulation method can be used to study the collapsing energy absorption characteristics of fiber reinforced and foam filled metal tapered square / hexagon tube under high-speed impact,which is a supplement of theoretical method studying the axial crushing energy absorption characteristics of the tube.(3)Based on the analytical model and the finite element model of axial crush of fiber reinforced and foam filled metal tapered square / hexagon tube,give the effects of basic angle,thickness of tube wall,density of aluminum foam and loading speed on the energy absorption capacity of the tube.The effect results can provide some reference and theoretical basis for engineering application of fiber reinforced and foam filled metal tapered square / hexagon tube applied as the crashworthy structure.
