Metal organic frameworks?MOFs?,a kind of novel inorganic-organic hybrid materials, have been widely studied.Recently MOF-based composites have developed rapidly owing to their superior properties, and play a unique role in the field of detection and identification.Herein luminescent modules were encapsulated into two frameworks by“bottle-around-ship”method for the preparation of dual/tri-emitting MOF-based composites, which were employed as ratiometric luminescent probes to detect volatile organic solvents?VOSs?and metal ions.In addition, the synthesis of MOFs with novel structures is of great significance. In this paper, two two-dimensional coordination layers were constructed based on the naphthalimide ligand containing an imidazole group, and were fully characterized. The details are described as follows:?1?Different amounts of red-emitting complex cation[Ru?bpy?3]2+was encapsulated into the anionic blue-emitting Ca-MOF??Me2NH2?[Ca3?L??HCOO??H2O?3]·9DMF·7H2O?to obtain series of[Ru?bpy?3]2+@Ca-MOF by“bottle-around-ship”method.1.30 wt%[Ru]2+@Ca-MOF was selected as a ratiometric probe to identify VOSs and metal ions.It can selectively recognize methanol and detect trace amount of methanol in ethanol solution, and the limit of detection?LOD?reaches 0.89%.It can even differentiate series of solvents based on 1D ratiometric luminescent sensing. In addition,it produces color changes that can be recognized by the naked eye in the process of detecting Fe3+and Al3+,and shows highly sensitive luminescence recognition response. The LOD is 1.05×10-55 M and 1.17×10-66 M respectively determined by ratiometric luminescence method.?2?Series of dual-emitting composites[Ru?bpy?3]2+/[ACF]+@Pb-MOF and a tri-emitting composite(0.036 wt%[Ru]2++0.035 wt%[ACF]+)@Pb-MOF were prepared by the incorporation of[Ru?bpy?3]2+and green-emitting organic dye acriflavine[ACF]Cl into blue-emitting Pb-MOF??Me2NH2?2[Pb2?L?]·6DMF·6.5H2O?via“bottle-around-ship”method.(0.036 wt%[Ru]2++0.035 wt%[ACF]+)@Pb-MOF was used in VOSs sensing. It can differentiate DMSO by naked eye,and distinguish various VOSs through 2D code map based on ratiometric luminescence.?3?Two two-dimensional MOFs Zn-MOF([Zn(ImNIPA)?DMSO?]n)and Cd-MOF ([Cd(ImNIPA)?DMSO?]n)featuring?6,3?honeycomb-type topology were synthesized using the naphthalimide ligand H2Imm NIPA containing an imidazole group.Three-dimensional supramolecular structures were formed via?-?stacking interactions between the naphthalene rings from the adjacent 2D layers.By studying their luminescence properties, the emission peak of MOFs was found to blueshift about 20 nm in comparison to the ligand, which may be ascribed to the deprotonation of H2ImNIPA and the coordination interactions of ImNIPA2-to metal ions.
