This dissertation includes four chapters,namely,the first one is a review,and the other ones are three experimental works.In the first chapter,the related research status was reviewed including several environmental pollutants,related pollutant adsorbents,pillar[n]arene-based adsorbents,and porous organic polymers.In the second chapter,a new type of porous pillar[5]arene polymer?P-P5AP?was prepared for adsorption of organic pollutants.The P-P5AP was obtanied using pillar[5]arene?P5A?as monomer and tetrafluoroterephthalonitrile?TFP?as crosslinker,and characterized its composition and structure.Results showed that the BET surface area was 422.7m2/g.The results of adsorption experiments showed that P-P5AP had excellent adsorption performance for four different types of pollutants?BPA?MB?1-NA?Propranolol?.It had the advantages of large adsorption capacity,fast adsorption speed?reaching adsorption equilibrium within 2minutes?,and can be reused for many times.The rapid removal effect of four mixed pollutants with environmental concentration was excellent?removal rate was 85-92%?.The P-P5AP retained the rigid skeleton and a highly symmetrical rich electroniccavity of P5A,causing a high specific surface area and high porosity.Therefore,it can be used as an excellent adsorbent for rapid removal of broad-spectrum organic pollutants in environmental water samples.In the third chapter,a new type of pillar[5]arene-polymer-functionalized cotton fiber?P5A-TFP@cotton?was prepared for adsorption of the organic pollutants in water and air.For fabrication of P5A-TFP@cotton,tetrafluoroterephthalonitrile?TFP?was grafted first on the fiber surface and the pillar[5]arene-TFP polymer was grafted subsequently,and characterized its composition and morphology.The experimental results showed that P5A-TFP@cotton can capture organic pollutants?BPA,MB?in water and VOCs in the air,with high adsorption capacity and rapid binding kinetics,and good re-use of adsorbents.The functionalized fibers also adsorbed the environmental-concentration styrene vapor rapidly to a concentration much lower than the limit of the U.S.Occupational Safety and Health Administration within 5 min.These properties make P5A-TFP@cotton available as water purification membranes,odor controlling fabrics,and respirators controlling exposure to volatile organic pollutants.In the last chapter,two thiol and thioether functionalized organic polymers?POP-SH,POP-SMe?were prepared for the simultaneous adsorption of aromatic pollutants and Hg2+.Using 4,4'-dibromobiphenyl and 1,3,5-triacetylene benzene as monomers,the cyclic skeleton was formed via Sonogashira-Hagihara cross-coupling reaction,and then the-SH and-SMe groups were modified on the skeleton respectively,and two novel adsorbents were characterized.Results showed that two adsorbents had loosely porous structure,high BET surface area,and good thermal and chemical stability.The new adsorbent had high adsorption capacity for Hg2+and aromatic pollutants?toluene,meta-xylene?,acceptable rapid binding kinetics,and good repeatability of the adsorbent.The adsorbents also showed high adsorption selectivity for Hg2+in the presence of commonly coexisting metal ions.Finally,two new adsorbents have been used successfully for the simultaneous and highly efficient removal of Hg2+ion and aromatic pollutants in the simulated sewage with removal efficiencies higher than 88%for Hg2+and higher than 93%for aromatic pollutants,indicating their great potential to be applied to the simultaneous removal of Hg2+and aromatic pollutants in real sewage or wastewater.
