The technology of X-ray non-destruction inspection is widely used in casting manufacturing,especially in automobile manufacturing.As wheel quality can not be ignored,intelligent X-ray wheel casting inspection system provides a quick and exact detection tool to the factory.Comparing with manual inspection,intelligent inspection system makes the X-ray image inspection more quickly and exactly by the computer aided detection,and provides a criterion to judge,which avoids the effect of subjective factors for the qualitative and quantitative analysis to flaw inspection.Meanwhile,intelligent inspection system has advantages in data management and radiation reduction.It turns to be one of the major research directions in non-destruction inspection.In this paper,the research is related to X-ray intelligent inspection of hub castings,focusing on image simulation and Simulation of hub defects:(1)A new way to calculate irregularly shaped flaw is proposed.Most hub flaws shape are irregularly,the distance of two points who are farthest from each other on the flaw,named flaw diamete,is another important parameter to evaluate the damage degree.Considering both diameter definition and geometry knowledge,the new method uses hull algorithm to calculate irregularly shaped flaw diameter,which reduce much computing time compared to traditional methods.(2)Diffusion filter technology based on PDE(Partial Differential Equation)and the application of it in image denoising is analyzed.After implementing diffusion methods based on time-delay regularization and diffusion tensor,with optimal iterator stop principle,it could remove noise form complicated background image,while image detail character remain well.The algorithm detects flaws of casting hub more accurate and completed.(3)A new method to simulate x-ray casting flaw image.As flaw detection algorithm is very important to intelligent system,the evaluation of software is necessary to the system development as well as in real production.Using simulation data in the process would reduce shrinkage cavity and porosity.Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective in making virtual flaws,as their shapes and grey level are more stochastic and natural.
