On shipbuilding gross tonnage surpass South Korea,china has become the world's largest shipbuilding base since 2011.But,in the field of high value-added shipbuilding,such as very large crude oil carrier area,our country far behind with Japan and South Korea,especially on hull piping system design that there is a large gap.With the amendments of ship international maritime conventions and the renewals of classification society rules,more requirements are put forward on hull piping system design.The article is mainly to study the detailed design of the very large crude oil carrier's hull piping system,and solve how to according the basis of ship construction specification for design the piping system diagram for the use of shipyard.In the context of international conventions and classification rules,with a shipbuilding person's point of view,according to the general shipbuilding design manual selecting parameters of each equipment,according to the relationship of flow rate and flow velocity determine various system diameter of main pipe,according to the principle of steam heating to calculate the cargo oil tank heating coil pipe's area,according to the international conventions to design the pump of fire protection system and other equipment,according the maintenance and operation experience to determine the number of ship piping valve accessories,by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various materials to choice the suitable material for shipping line can reduce the cost of shipbuilding.The final purpose is to use AUTO-CAD software to draw the hull piping system diagram which can be use in the very large crude oil carrier.The good ship real trial data illustrates the rationality of the design,also this paper suggests that the research methods of the design of hull piping system is feasible,which can provide practical guidance on design of the very large crude oil carrier's hull piping system.
