Foundry is the foundation of industry.The foundry process produces a huge amount of waste,such as waste sand,waste soot and dust.At present,foundry waste is usually disposed of by landfill or open-air stacking,which not only wastes valuable material resources,but also poses potential harm to the ecological environment.This paper takes foundry dust as the research object,and uses it as a filler of natural rubber through a series of physical and chemical methods.It explores the influence of foundry dust on the processing,mechanical properties and aging properties of natural rubber,and finds the new ideas for realizing the recycling of foundry dust.The main research contents are as follows:Two typical foundry dust fillers(XJ01 and XJ02)are obtained by purification,iron removal,grinding and surface treatment.And a series of different formulations of composite materials are prepared by combining the foundry dust with natural rubber by traditional mixing and vulcanization methods.The particle size and morphology of the Foundry dust after processing are analyzed.The microstructure,mechanical properties and thermal aging properties of the Foundry dust/natural rubber composite are tested and analyzed.The results show that the two kinds of modified foundry dust can play a certain role in reinforcing natural rubber and improve the thermal and aging resistance of natural rubber.The natural rubber is co-filled and modified by foundry dust modified filler(XJ01)and carbon black(N330).A series of composite samples are prepared by mixing different ratios of XJ01 and N330 mixed reinforcing agents with natural rubber.The microstructure and mechanical properties of the samples are tested and analyzed.The results show that the addition of XJ01 facilitates the addition of reinforcing fillers.It can save the mixing time and reduce the vulcanization time of natural rubber and improve the production efficiency.With the increase of N330 over XJ01 ratio,the interaction between N330 and XJ01 is enhanced,and the effect of reinforcing natural rubber is obvious.For products with less mechanical properties,the processed and modified foundry dust may partially or completely replace the carbon black as a reinforcing agent for natural rubber.The surface of the fumed silica is modified by a silane coupling agent to improve the dispersibility;the foundry dust additive XJ01 and white carbon black are used to synergistically modify the natural rubber.The microstructure and mechanical properties of the natural rubber composite samples,that modified by the synergistic reinforcing agent,are systematically tested and analyzed.The results show that the addition of XJ01 is beneficial to the dispersion and mixing of white carbon black,saving mixing time and reducing dust.Under the condition of the total amount of reinforcing agent,SiO2 over XJ01 ratio increases,the composite material's mechanical properties are continuously enhanced;the silica modified by silane has better mechanical properties than natural unmodified silica.For products with less demand about mechanical properties,the modified foundry dust may partially or completely replace carbon black as a reinforcing agent for natural rubber.The foundry dust is modified and used as a filler for natural rubber.It can be filled separately or co-filled with carbon black and white carbon black to prepare natural rubber products,improve the production efficiency of natural rubber mixing process,reduce the cost of rubber products and increase the output.This study provides a new idea and experimental reference for the application of foundry dust in the rubber industry.
