The types and the total amount of MSW are increasing with the developing of the society and how to deal with it reasonably has become a national problem.From the point view of energy utilization and volume decrease,burning is becoming the main way of garbage disposal which will decrease volume by 80%-90%and produce large amount of fly ash.And a large amount of waste slag can be well application to practical engineering in order to achieve the purposes of waste utilization and conservation of soil.Therefore,the geotechnical properties are conclude from experiments and numerical simulation research on strength and deformation of municipal solid waste slag was done in this paper.The main contents of this paper are as follows:?1?The basic physical parameters of the municipal solid waste slag were determined,and the rationality and feasibility of the municipal solid waste slag as the engineering material were analyzed.And the XRD analysis of the slag was done to get the main components of the slag in order to obtain a better understanding of the strength characteristics of the slag sample.?2?Different moisture content were got by mixing the particles of slag with water,then samples with size 80mm in height and 39.1mm in diameter of different dry density which were 1.4,1.5 and 1.6 g·cm-3 were made through hierarchical compaction.Unconfined strength test of samples and the strength of saturated samples with different dry density and different curing age of 7d,14d,28d,and 60d were studied,and 5 experiments were done to a kind of dry density in a certain curing age in order to reduce the impact of discrete.?3?Triaxial test of saturated samples with different dry density of 1.4,1.5,1.6 g·cm-3 and different curing age of 7d,14d,28d,and 60d were studied,strength parameters c,?and deformation properties were analyzed.?4?Using discrete element method PFC2D and PFC3D to simulate experimental process based on the parameters obtained from experiments,the simulative results and the experimental results have consistency which give a microscopic point of view to analyze the strength and deformation characteristics of the slag.
