The measurement based on machine vision is characteristic with detection technology with its non-contact,high precision,high efficiency and good system activity.This system has been greatly popularized in the scientific research and industrial engineering field since these advantages.The flexible polish is a kind of technology which be used for woodworking machine.After study the status of domestic and abroad,this thesis establishes a set of on line control system to help woodworking machine be easier to use and solve some problem something like lacking of automation control.This control system is based on machine vision theory and polish pressure measurement.The thesis first analyzes the peculiarity of the flexible polish and establishes a relationship between old technology and pressure measurement system.Then build a machine vision system to control this relationship.The specific purpose of this machine vision system is to measure the width and thickness of work piece.To build this machine vision system,the thesis describes how to choice the hardware of this system.After set up these hardware and get an image which include width and thickness information,system need process this image.This process includes standardize image,revise the lens distortion,change to gray level image,balance gray level histogram,detect the edge in this image,sharpen the image,extract the target characteristic and so on.This machine vision system output the result with the practical length.This thesis does a mass of test to prove this system is useful.But it is found with some error of date.After analyzes the reason of these error,the thesis uses linear regression to revise it.This way is proved useful.The finally date which this system output is accurately.It shows that the vision measurement system achieve the desired goal.
