Jiaoshiba of Fuling Area in Sichuan Basin is the largest and most successful exploration area of shale gas in China. In order to determine the factors that control shale gas accumulation, and provide references for other areas, this paper conducts a systematical research for shale gas exploration based on geological logging methods. The differences in geological characteristics between the Shale gas and conventional oil and gas result in the obvious differences in the logging methods and data interpretation.Based on a large quantity of data and various modern logging technologies(conventional logging, geochemical logging,X-ray elements logging),this paper presents a new method for logging data interpretation and processing. Therefore, some characteristic technologies are formed to rapidly evaluate organic matter logging, mud shale brittleness,gas-bearing shale and the physical properties of the shale in the field. From the logging practice in research area, this shale gas logging technology and data interpretation method, which is formed on the basis of special geological features and development technology of shale gas, effectively reduces the influence of oil base drilling fluid and horizontal well drilling on logging data.Consequently,it can meet the technology demand for rapid identification of gas-bearing shale, reservoir assessment and compressibility forecast of target layer. This technology has strong pertinence and effectiveness, and can provide complete field data and technical support for shale gas logging identification and exploitation. The paper also makes comparison among several major domestic production field for shale gas.The comparison contents involve organic matter,gas-bearing,physical property, reservoir reformation and hydrocarbon generation potential.Accordingly, ten key parameters for shale gas evaluation are extracted and a new evaluation criteria is established, which provide references for other domestic shale gas exploration area.
