Hydrogen is one of the most promising new energy resources with great energy density and non-polluting in the 21th century,and it has long been considered one of the most promising sustainable energy sources.Water electrolysis is the attractive method to get hydrogen,which is proposed as efficient energy conversion and storage systems.One of the most important reasons that keeps the systems from being of practical use to date is the sluggish kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction.The design and synthesis of transition metal oxide catalysts can improve the OER activity.Hence,the present paper focuses on the research of controlled synthesis and morphology adjustment of Co3O4 nanomaterials.Different morphology of Co3O4 nanomaterials were synthesized by different ways to investigating the OER activity.In the second chapter,Co3O4-ZIF-8 nanoparticle were prepared by ZIF-8 worked as a template,and exhibited higher OER activity at an initial potential of 1.50 V vs.RHE in comparison with the Co3O4 prepared by ZIF-67.The overpotential is 1.63 V vs.RHE to reach the current density of 10 mA·cm-2 with a good cycle stability.In the third chapter,we developed a very simple method for the nanosheets synthesis of Co-coordination compound-Co?mIM?·H2O.The Co-coordination compound-Co?mIM?·H2O can act as precursor to nanosheets Co3O4 with good OER activity which the earlier onset potential at only approximately 1.45 V versus RHE.And to reach the current density of 10 mA·cm-2,it requires only a potential of 1.60 V vs.RHE.Furthermore,the catalyst exhibit good stability after 2000 cycles.
