Pillar[n]arene are a class of novel superamolecular macrocyclic host.Rigid pillar-like structures,electron-rich cavity, and unique host-guest complexation abilities, have made them suitable for selectively binding a variety of neutral and electron-deficient guests.Naphthopyrans are a well-known class of organic photochromic materials widely applied in optical switches, ophthalmic lenses, etc. In addition,Naphthalimides are versatile functional compounds, which have received durable attention for their antitumor activities and photophysical characters.Herein,a supramolecular system based on the host-guest interaction of pillar[5]arene were constructed, which contained three components the mentioned above. The multiply modulation of the host's fluorescence was achieved in different ways, including Energy transfer caused by the overlapping of spectral and Aggregation-caused Quenching.Firstly,We designed and synthesized a monomer containing a pillar[5]arene unit and a monomer containing a benzimidazole unit. The radical copolymerization between two monomers obtained a polymeric host. Then, two guests,a photochromic naphthopyran derivative and a fluorescent naphthalimide derivative were synthesized. Finally, the effective host-guest interaction between the pillar[5]arene unit and two guests was confirmed. And the influence of two guests on the host's fluorescence was investigated. The main contents of the research include:1.The structures of host and guest were characterized by 1H NMR,13 C NMR,MS and GPC.2.The effective recognition between pillar[5]arene and naphthalimide were confirmed by 1H NMR.Moreover, the morphological change of the host-guest self-assembly process was observed by SEM.3.The fluorescence of the benzimidazole unit of polymeric host could be effectively quenched by G1 and G2 in different ways, which was proved by fluorescence and UV absorption spectra.
