5356 aluminum alloy as an unreinforced deformed aluminum alloy,has the advantages of light weight,high specific modulus,high strength and good toughness.It has been widely used in military industry,aerospace,shipbuilding and other fields.Due to its good welding performance,the application of welding material is more important,especially in Al-Mg,Al-Mg-Si and other aluminum alloy welding.In the process of wire processing requires 5356 aluminum alloy to have better mechanical properties,so must make 5356 aluminum alloy base material has better quality.In this paper,5356 aluminum alloy melt was purified,refined and ultrasonic treated.By homogenizing the 5356 aluminum alloy cast into ingots,The semisolid5356 aluminum alloy was processed by continuous rheological extrusion.The microstructure and mechanical properties of 5356 aluminum alloy were observed and tested by optical microscope?OM?,scanning electron microscope?SEM?,energy spectrometer?EDS?and universal material testing machine.The experimental results are analyzed and the principle of the process is explained.In the purification process,it was found that the microstructure and mechanical properties of 5356 aluminum alloy refined by C2Cl6 were better than that of NH4Cl refining agent.After smelting 5356 aluminum alloy C2Cl6,its tensile strength was183MPa,43%higher than that of unrefined aluminum alloy,and its density reached2.4811g/cm3.Ceramic foam filters better than glass mesh,After filtering by ceramic foam,the tensile strength and elongation of 5356 aluminum alloy have been greatly improved,with the tensile strength reaching 210MPa and the elongation of the alloy reaching 11.7%.In 5356 aluminum alloy melt temperature during 720-730?,adding 0.2%Al-5Ti-1B refiner refinement effect is best.The tensile strength of the refined alloy reached 192MPa,38.1%higher than that of the unrefined alloy after refining.When the insertion depth of the horn is 30mm,the microstructure and properties of 5356aluminum alloy are better.The experimental results also show that when the high-energy ultrasonic processing time is 2min,the performance of 5356 aluminum alloy is the best.The content of Mg in the microstructure of 5356 aluminum alloy under the as-cast was not balanced,and the content of Mg in the grain boundary was the highest.Afterhomogenization treatment within the Mg alloy element content becomes uniform,5356 aluminium alloy has optimal performance after the 400?x?20 to 22 h?uniform process.The tensile strength reached 212MPa and the elongation reached12.9%.In the process of 5356 aluminum alloy semi-solid extrusion rheological,pouring temperature control at 720-760?and 5356 aluminum alloy extruded wire surface quality is good.The grains of 5356 aluminum alloy wireare generally smaller after continuous rheological extrusion.The grain size of 5356 aluminum alloy wire will be smaller when the casting temperature is lower and the rotation speed of the extrusion wheel is higher.When the extrusion wheel speed is 15 r/min,the pouring temperature is 720?,the average grain size of 5.7 microns.The mechanical properties of 5356aluminum alloy wire increased with the decrease of casting temperature and the increase of extrusion wheel speed.When pouring temperature is 740?,the extrusion wheel speed is 15 r/min,alloy tensile strength of 324MPa,the elongation is42.5%.When 5356 aluminum alloy is extruded with CRE300 continuous rheology,The optimal process parameters are as follows:cooling water flow 3.0m3/h,Pouring temperature in 720-740?,the extrusion wheel speed is 15 r/min,squeeze the gap of 1-1.5 mm.
