As an effective biological monitor, bryophytes have a simple structure and are sensitive to environmental changes, which is helpful for indicating the accumulation of pollutants such as heavy metals in the body.In this paper, the contents of 12 heavy metal elements in bryophytes and matrix soil samples collected from 8 functional areas(industrial areas, science and education areas, urban roads, residential areas, urban parks,urban-rural integration, commercial areas, and scenic areas)in Baotou City.ICP-MS was performed and the enrichment factor was used to evaluate the enrichment ability of bryophytes for heavy metals.Evaluate the degree of contamination of heavy metals in the environment of Baotou City and find suitable bryophyte species as effective biomonitors for monitoring heavy metal pollutants in the environment. The experimental results showed:In this study,a total of 545 specimens of bryophytes were collected, and 18 species,8 genera and 18 bryophytes were identified. The dominant species in the study area was pottiaceae plant.Among all the bryophytes in the study area, the contents of heavy metalelements showed that the total content of the heavy metal elements was:Pottiaceae>Funariaceae>Ditrichaceae>Brachytheciaceae>Amblystegiaceae>Bryacea e.The order of heavy metal elements in the corresponding bryophytes shows the same pattern as in the matrix soil;Compared with the background value of Inner Mongolia, the content of each heavy metal element in the matrix soil sample is Mn?Zn?Cr?Pb?Fe?Cu?Ni?As,except that the content of two heavy metal elements La and Co,which did not exceed the background value. The content of ten heavy metal elements of Se,Cd exceeded the soil background value of Inner Mongolia, and the excess multiples were 1.3?2?2.2?2?1.5?2?1.4?1.5?6.6?5.5 respectively.Correlation analysis between elements showed that there were significant correlations among the 10 heavy metal elements such as Cr?Mn?Fe?Co?Zn?La?Pb?Cu?Ni and Cd in the matrix soil.Guessed that the sources of these elements were the same or similar;Mn and Zn,Pb and La elements always maintained a synergistic absorption effect when plants absorbed them. The analysis of the enrichment ability of bryophytes in each functional area showed that the enrichment factor(BCF)ranged from 0.18 to 0.64,the most enrichment ability is the Didymodon constrictus.Considering a variety of constraints, this paper believes that Didymodon constrictus could be used as indicator plants for the pollution of heavy metal elements in the environment. The potential ecological hazard index method was used to evaluate the pollution degree of heavy metal elements in the matrix soil of Baotou City.It showed that Cd showed strong potential ecological hazard level in each functional area, and themulti-factor potential ecological hazard index of industrial area and urban road was the highest and their ecological hazard level has reached strong degree needs to pay great attention to it seriously.Bryophyte is an effective bio-monitor to indicate the pollution of heavy metals in the environment. In this study,Didymodon constrictus could be used as indicator plants for the pollution of heavy metal elements in the environment.Industrial areas and urban roads in Baotou City are of strong ecological hazards,of which Cd is the main pollution element.
