The environmental effects and risks of atmospheric particulate matter have gained more and more attention.As a typical coal resources city,Wuhai is facing serious problems of atmospheric particulate matter pollution.Systematic analysis the chemical composition and identify the sources of particulate matter is the basic conditions for preventing and controlling of particulate matter pollution.Aimed at the particulate matter pollution in Wuhai,particulate matter samples were systematically collected in spring,summer,fall and winter,and the analysis of characteristic of water-soluble ions in samples were carried out.The diffusion regulation of atmospheric particulate matter over the Wuhai region was simulated using Weather Research and Forecasting?WRF?and Community Multi scale Air Quality?CMAQ?model.The simulation results were verified by automatic monitoring data of air quality and meteorological conditions.The contributions of various pollution sources towards particulate matter were also estimated.The major results are listed as follows:1.The seasonal characteristics of typical atmospheric pollutants in Wuhai and its relationship with meteorological conditions were discussed.The data set of air quality and meteorological conditions with hourly complete time series was constructed,and the characteristics of atmospheric pollutants based on seasonal and hourly scales and their relationship with meteorological conditions were summarized.2.The components of atmospheric particulate matter samples were collected and analyzed.The difference of water-soluble ions distribution in PM10 and PM2.5 were discussed,as well as the chemical equilibrium and secondary transformation characteristics.Meanwhile,ion binding forms and possible sources of particulate matter were identified.3.A Wuhai air quality simulation system based on WRF/CMAQ model was built.Coupling meteorological data and emission lists of different pollution sources,the diffusion process of atmospheric pollutants was simulated to estimate the contribution of different pollution sources to the concentration of particulate matter in heavy pollution period.This study is of great significance for understanding the pollution and diffusion laws of atmospheric particulate matter in Wuhai,which helps to achieve the goal of air pollution prevention,control action plan and improve the atmospheric environment quality of Wuhai.
