Magnetic chitosan microspheres have been widely used in sewage treatment due to non-toxicity,biocompatibility,regeneration,low cost and magnetic response. In this paper, the preparation of magnetic chitosan microspheres?Fe3O4@CS?was optimized based on the particle size and distribution, and then toxic effects of Fe3O4@CS on zebrafish embryos were studied.Magnetic chitosan composite microspheres were prepared with polyethylenimine?PEI?,the effects of PEI on the microsphere structure and adsorption capacity were analyzed.A brief summary of results is as follow:?1?Glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent, the preparation of Fe3O4@CS was in emulsion system,The effects of different experimental conditions on the particle size and distribution of Fe3O4@CS were studied, the adsorption of ibuprofen on Fe3O4@CS obtained from the Langmuir model was 61.54 mg/g.?2?Using different particle size of Fe3O4@CS to prepare different concentration solution, which exposed on zabrafish embryos. We found that hatching rate and mortality of zebrafish embryos in experimental group and the negative control group were similar, indicating that in this size and concentration range of Fe3O4@CS has no obvious toxicity on zebrafish embryos.?3?Fe3O4@CS were modified by PEI,found that with the increase of PEI,the particle size of microspheres showed a decreasing trend, and the adsorption capacity of ibuprofen increased; The adsorption of ibuprofen on Fe3O4@CS/PEI conform to Langmuir adsorption isotherm and the second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacity of ibuprofen on Fe3O4@CS/PEI obtained from the Langmuir model was 138.63mg/g,more than double that of the microsphere without PEI,with good reusability.
