With the development of supramolecular coordination chemistry, many complexes with novel framework and excellent property have been designed through self-assembly strategies.Subcomponent self-assembly,as one of important self-assembly strategies, has received more and more attentions in structural design of transition metal complexes. However, there are few reports on construction and functionalization of lanthanide complexes by using the subcomponent self-assembly strategy. In this paper,a series of mononuclear lanthanide complexes have been constructed by subcomponent self-assembly strategy and their structures have been analyzed and compared. In addition, the relationship between the structure and the catalytic property of these different lanthanide complexes towards the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 has been studied. This paper is divided into three chapters.Chapter 1:We briefly introduced the subcomponent self-assembly in supramolecular coordination chemistry, and some research examples on the construction of complexes by subcomponent self-assembly strategy have been illustrated. Then, the progresses of mononuclear lanthanide complexes constructed by self-assembly as well as its optical applications were reviewed. Moreover,we summarized recent research progress in the use of various catalysts, including ionic liquid catalysts, porphyrin catalysts and salen catalysts to catalyze the addition reaction of CO2 with epoxide.Chapter 2:By using pyridine-2,6-dicarbaldhyde and 2-aminophenol,we constructed a series of mononuclear lanthanide complexes based on subcomponent self-assembly strategy.By analyzing structural differences and subcomponent changes of these lanthanide complexes, the construction process of subcomponent self-assembly has been studied. In addition, the effect of anions and lanthanide ions on the structure formation of these lanthanide complexes was also illustrated.Chapter 3:We selected two mononuclear lanthanide complexes 1a and 2 with similar structure, and studied their catalytic properties for the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 with epoxide.Complex 1a is capable of efficiently catalyzing the addition of CO2 with epoxide to obtain cyclic carbonate with a broad substrate range under mild conditions. However, the catalytic performance of complex 2 is poor.By analyzing the structural differences,we found how the coordination structure of lanthanide ions effect on its catalytic performance.
