Because of its rich resources,convenient storage and transportation,liquid hydrocarbon fuels occupying an important position in the field of propellant.Propellant performance determining factors of aviation and spacecraft performance(including flight range,flight speed and payload,etc.),and the propellant performance depend on its density and energy.Development of aviation and spacecraft quires higher energy and density of propellant.Impressive progress has been made in high-density liquid fuel by chemical synthesis,but,with the increase of density,the freezing-point and viscosity rise quickly,vapor press decrease,ignition and combustion characteristics are worse compared with RP-3.Especially,this phenomenon is even more evident under conditions of high altitude and low pressure condition.Furthermore,the ignition and combustion characteristics of hydrocarbon fuels are crucial issue.And the high-density liquid fuel are bicyclic or polycyclic hydrocarbon structure with high C/H ratio,this issue is more crucial.Application of fuel combustion improver is an effective way to solve this problem.Evaluating the influence of the combustion improver on the fuel combustion characteristics by Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter Method is an effective way.In this thesis,under a range of the excess-air-coefficient(?),the effects of different type of combustion improver were investigated on combustion characteristic of JP-10,cyclopentadiene trimer(HD-03)and fuel blended with HD-03 and JP-10(HD-03-I).Under the excess-air-coefficient(?)of 1.0,1.1,1.2,the effects of 4 kinds of combustion improvers(Pd NPs,Pt NPs,QC,DMAZ)with different concentration were investigated on combustion characteristic of JP-10,it was showed that QC has the best performance;when under the excess-air-coefficient(?)of 1.2~2.6,the effects of QC with different concentration were investigated on combustion characteristic of JP-10,it was showed that the combustion performance is significantly improved.When excessair-coefficient is 1.6 and the content of QC is 1%,the combustion efficiency of JP-10 close to 96%.HD-03 and HD-03-I have the characteristics of higher high-density and highenergy,and also have the characteristics of higher flash point and viscosity.For the reason that QC has the best performance to JP-10,under the excess-air-coefficient(?)of 1.2~2.0,the effects of QC with different concentration were investigated on combustion characteristic of HD-03 and HD-03-I.It was showed that the combustion performance of HD-03 has a small amount improved,and has no improvement to the HD-03-I.
