Rapid prototyping technology is an advanced manufacturing technology based on the discrete-stacking principle which can manufacture complex-shaped components.With the wide application of new composite materials and functional gradient materials,how to fabricate it by rapid prototyping technology has become a research hotspot in recent years.Therefore,it is necessary to study the rapid prototyping technology in the field of multi-material processing.This paper studies the forming technology of multi thermoplastic materials with the multimaterial rapid prototyping,overcome the limitations of traditional multi-material manufacturing methods.The main research results are listed below:The multi-material rapid prototyping system based on fused deposition technology is constructed.Two types of multicolor print structures(separated and integrated)are designed.For the integrated structure,aiming at the problem of insufficient heat dissipation,the thermal simulation analysis is carried out.According to the analysis results,the heat dissipation structure is improved,which ensures that the material is not softened before entering the melting chamber and prevents the nozzle from blocking.The method for improving print quality has been explored for these two multicolor print structures.Besides,Multi-color printing of two data structures,STL and AMF,was completed.A multi-material hybrid printing method was achieved by setting various physical extruders as virtual extruders with different speed ratios.The gradient effect of the interlayer material can be realized by continuously changing the speeds of the physical extruders according to the interpolation of initial and final material ratio.Comparing the mechanical properties of the samples of two incompatible materials under different ratios,the mixed extrusion effects of different materials can reach the expectation.And using gradient functional materials to connect different materials,improving the interface bonding strength.For the gradient-function monolithic material,the anywhere material properties of the one-dimensional,two-dimensional and three-dimensional gradient functional materials under linear gradient are obtained by interpolation.Rapid prototyping of one-dimensional gradient functional materials with arbitrary power function gradient changes,and rapid prototyping preparation methods for two-dimensional and three-dimensional gradient functional materials with linear gradient changes.
