It is found in the open literature at home and abroad that most photocatalystic reactors are designed for the laboratory scale research which are not suitable for the applications in the industry fields. The airlift loop photocatalystic reactor in this study is designed in pilot scale to investigate the photocatalytic reaction. As the actual element of dyeing wastewater is much complex, the reactive brilliant red X-3B was used as a reference bacaue of its wild application and hard biochemical degradation. To clearly understand the property of the properly selected catalyst, the elements(concentration),crystal structure and particle diameter of the catalyst sample were tested and analysised. Also, the absorbance of the reactive brilliant red X-3B was measured from wavelength 200 nm to 800 nm.The factors, such as original concentration of the X-3B soluation, concentration of the catalyst, original pH value, air folw-rate,solution temperature, the hydrogen peroxide volume, and UV-light intensity, were studied. It was found that the best concontration of catalyst is 0.5g/L;the best hydrogen peroxide volume is 200mL;also,the degradation rate is higher in acidic conditions, etc. The degradation rate can be achieved at 95% in this study. The kinetic study shows that photocatalytic raction in this study can be described by Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation.
