With the rapid rise of a series of shared bicycles such as OFO and Mobike,bicycles play an increasingly important role in people's daily life and urban traffic composition.However,the rapid development of shared bicycles has also caused a series of problems.Since most of the signalized intersection in China don't have a right turning dedicated phase,the conflict between right turning vehicles at the signal crossings with other traffic flows seriously affects the intersections,especially the traffic conflict with the bicycle is becoming increasingly serious.This study analyzes and evaluates the traffic safety at the intersection by studying the conflict between the going ahead bicycles at the signalized intersection and the right turning vehicles.Firstly,by analyzing the traffic characteristics of right turning vehicles and bicycles,the movement change rule of the two at the signalized intersection is summarized.Then,video data of signalized intersection was collected in Changsha.And the data of signalized intersection conflict was extracted and analyzed by using the image processing software Tracker technology of video.The conflict between the right turning vehicles and the bicycles at the signalized intersection was judged and the severity was determined,a traffic conflict safety evaluation model was proposed.The innovative work is as follows:1.Traffic conflict discrimination1)Determine the deceleration as the conflict criterion,and use a new critical gap calculation method proposed by Professor NingWu of Bochum University of Ruhr to determine the critical value of conflict discrimination,and the traffic conflict is judged for the extracted data.2)The severity of the conflict is divided into three categories:minor conflict,general conflict,serious conflict,and the conflict data is classified by K-Means cluster analysis.2.Traffic conflict safety evaluation model1)The four conflict points of the intersection bicycles and the right turning vehicles are selected as the evaluation objects.The ratio of the number of traffic conflicts to the mixed equivalent traffic volume(TC/MPCU)and the ratio of serious conflicts(RSC)at different time points of the four conflict points are two evaluations.Indicators to assess their safety at different peaks,peaks and evening peaks.2)The safety level of signalized intersection is divided into four levels:special safety,safety,critical safety and insecurity.A grey clustering evaluation model is constructed to evaluate the safety status of four collision zones of bicycles and right turning vehicles at signalized intersections at different time periods.Finally,the proposed model is used to deal with the traffic conflict between right turning vehicle and bicycles at the signalized intersection of People's Middle Road and Furong Middle Road in Changsha.
