At present,most of the conductive fibers are made of carbon black material mostly.Although the conductive effect is well,the fibers are grayish black mostly,which will affect the appearance of the textile seriously,and range of application is limited.Light-colored conductive fibers refer to the conductive fiber with a light-colored or white appearance.However,the light-colored conductive fibers are filled with semiconductors mostly,which conductivity is weak compared with carbon black materials relatively,so the addition amount is large and it is difficult to develop.The production of light-colored conductive fibers is mastered by a few foreign companies.Chinese white conductive fibers rely on imports mainly,and the development of light-colored conductive masterbatch with good processing properties and electrical conductivity is the key to preparing high-quality conductive fibers.Therefore,selecting PBT and TiO2 as the materials and prepares a series of TiO2/PBT conductive materials by melt mixing.The TiO2/PBT conductive masterbatch was prepared by twin-screw extruder and the internal mixer.Characterizing the conductive masterbatch prepared by it systematically.First of all,the processed TiO2 and untreated TiO2 were characterized by laser particle size,FT-IR,EDS,XRD and SEM.The results show that the particle size of TiO2's range is 50 to 250 nm,and the distribution ratio of untreated TiO2 particle size to treated TiO2 average particle size is 11.30 wt%,9.88 wt%,12.42 wt%respectively.And the proportion of addition should be controlled strictly,the proportion of the dispersant should not exceed 2.0 wt%.The volume resistivity of TiO2 treated by different methods show that the resistivity were 70 ?·cm and 88 ?·cm by dispersion of physical and dispersant respectively,which was similar to the resistivity of untreated TiO2,and the resistivity after chemical dispersion treatment reached 230?·cm.The rate has increased 3 times nearly.Secondly,the preparation and properties of the TiO2/PBT conductive mixture made by the internal mixer,it can be known that the viscosity of the PBT increases and the content of conductive increases,the processing equilibrium time is longer,the maximum equilibrium torque is larger,the material surface is rougher;With the addition of dispersant,the processability of polymer melt is modified and the surface of the mixture becomes smooth.The melt index is decreases with viscosity of PBT and the increase of dispersant content.At the same time,the melting temperature is similar to PBT at 223?,and the crystallization temperature is increased about 15?than PBT.The viscosity of PBT is 1.0 dL/g,content of conductive is 65 wt%,and content of dispersant is 1.0 wt%,the mixed material has better performance.In the end,the conductive masterbatch of TiO2/PBT was prepared by twin-screw extruder.The effects of different formulations of TiO2/PBT monofilament on volume resistivity and dispersion performance of TiO2 were investigated by filtration performance,monofilament resistivity,monofilament morphology and dispersion performance of TiO2 in monofilament.The results show that the filtration performance of the conductive masterbatch with dispersant was improved obviously and the filtration performance of PBT with different viscosity was discrepant.When the conductive content is the same,the resistivity of PBT with higher viscosity was higher than that of PBT with lower viscosity.The resistivity of the monofilament decreases with the increase of the conductive content and the viscosity of the PBT,and increases with the increase of the dispersant.When the dispersant content reaches to 2.0 wt%,two kinds of conductive filament's resistivity were 4.62×102?·cm increase to 2.06×103 ?·cm,3.52×102 ?·cm increase to 4.89×103 ?·cm.The resistivity of the conductive monofilament is increased by an order of magnitude,so the resistivity of the conductive monofilament is increased by excess dispersant easily.
