Water pollution is still the main problem facing today's society, and the flocculation sedimentation method has become a widely used method in major water treatment plants due to its simple operation and low cost. The traditional flocculant polyaluminum chloride(PAC),which is commonly used at present, has the advantages of easy operation, stable nature, wide application range of pH,etc.,but its disadvantages such as poor sedimentation performance, loose flocculation, easy floating, and secondary pollution are also significant. The application in water treatment is limited and needs further improvement. Therefore,it is very necessary to develop a high-efficiency?safe?non-toxic and low-cost flocculant, which is of great significance.Since inorganic mineral materials contain a large number of elements with flocculation effects such as Al,Fe,etc.,this study selected natural mineral material volcanic rock(VR)as raw material, and used acid modification to prepare inorganic flocculant(VRF).The morphology and structure of the modified materials were analyzed by means of XRF,SEM,XRD and FTIR.By simulating inorganic colloidal wastewater and milk wastewater as wastewater samples, the effects of VR particle size, modifier type, acid concentration and mass ratio of VR and acid on the turbidity, zeta potential and sedimentation performance of water samples were studied.Compare with traditional PAC.It can be seen from the results that the volcanic rock mineral material(VR)has no flocculation effect, and the effects of VRF and PAC dosage on the turbidity and zeta potential of the supernatant after simulated inorganic wastewater and milk wastewater flocculation are about the same. The optimum removal rates of turbidity of milk wastewater were 97.57%and 98.7%,respectively.Among them, the flocculation sedimentation rate of simulated milk wastewater by VRF was much faster than that of PAC treatment system, and the separation and sedimentation performance was better. The VRF flocculation mechanism mainly relies on the adsorption neutralization effect, that is,the synergistic effect of soluble salt and solid state particulate matter, and there is a significant difference from PAC.The self-made VRF has better flocculation treatment effect on the aquaculture wastewater than the commercially available PAC.Under the condition of optimal dosage of 12 g/L,the removal rates of turbidity,TP,CODcr,SS and NH4+-N in aquaculture wastewater were 84.43%,92.05%,54.36%,94.69%and 19.31%,respectively.The effect is also far superior to the PAC.The flocculation effect of treating wastewater in the FRP production workshop is also good. However, for high-concentration starch wastewater, the original water sample has higher salinity and more ion content, and the self-regulating effect of self-made VRF in the system is difficult to play well,so the self-made VRF treatment effect is worse than PAC.After the simulated wastewater was flocculated by self-made VRF,the heavy metals such as As,Cd,Cr,Pb and Hg in the supernatant and floc deposits did not exceed the standard content. Therefore, the volcanic rock VRF flocculant developed in this study,it has the advantages of safety,non-toxicity,low cost and convenient storage, and has great practical application value.
