The continuous development of bioethanol technology provides a cheap and abundant source of raw materials for various production processes using ethanol as raw materials. In this paper,a new technology was developed to convert biomass resources into high energy density aviation fuel.Ethanol was used as raw material to obtain high value-added products. The process does not depend on fossil resources, combined with some mature technologies,so it has the advantages of abundant raw materials and simple operation. In this paper, some problems involved in the process are studied in depth.(1)the new update ethanol to jet fuel process includes four steps:(i)the conversion of ethanol to butadiene,(ii)the trimerization of butadiene to 1,5,9-cyclododecaenotriene(CDT),(iii)isomerism of CDT to jet fuel precursor and(iv)hydrogenation of jet fuel precursor to products.(2)Active intermediates in the process from ethanol to butadiene were observed by using SVUV-PIMS technology. The presence of acetaldol in the MPV reaction mechanism was confirmed.(3)In the ethanol to butadiene reaction system, there are many active intermediates such as ketene. The balance of dehydration capacity and dehydrogenation capacity of the catalyst is the direction of catalyst optimization.(4)HND-580 solid acid catalyst and Pt/Al2O3 catalyst were used to convert CDT and hydrogenating high-density fuel precursors, respectively. The main component of the product was tricyclo[6,4,0,02,6]dodecane,and the other components all contained polycyclic structure.(5)The utilization of carbon dioxide is of great significance to the biomass development process. The CZZ/AC-N methanol synthesis catalyst developed in this paper has an ideal methanol yield(9.1%)at 340?.
