Superhydrophobic phenomenon refers to the contact angle of water and solid surface is greater than 150°,and the slide angle is less than 10°.This phenomenon widely exists in nature,such as rose petals,rice leaves,water strider feet,compound eyes of mosquitoes and so on,which allows them to better adapt to their living environment.The superhydrophobic material can be artificially prepared by controlling the micro-nano roughness and low surface energy of the material surface.At present,superhydrophobic materials can be applied to industries that are closely related to industrial and agricultural production and daily life,such as in situ oil-water separation,glass self-cleaning coating technology,marine environment anti-corrosion engineering,anti-icing and deicing technology and membrane penetration technology.Although superhydrophobic materials have huge potential,their durability and stability in different environments seriously limit their large-scale application.Most man-made superhydrophobic materials can easily lose their specific wetting properties due to the destruction of the surface micro-nano hierarchical structure or the loss of low surface energy substances under the conditions of harsh chemical environment,mechanical abrasion,ultraviolet light and high temperature.In order to extend the service life of superhydrophobic materials,researchers have explored ways to improve the stability and mechanical durability of superhydrophobic materials.But in general,due to cost control and process machinability,current research has not really solved the above problems.Therefore,it is of great significance and value to develop simple and low-cost methods to prepare superhydrophobic materials with mechanical durability and stable physicochemical properties,and explore their applications.This paper select the low cost raw materials(kaolin,epoxy resin,polytetrafluoroethylene)and simple preparation method to obtain polymer based composite superhydrophobic materials with excellent performance,which has far-reaching significance for promoting the development of superhydrophobic materials.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Epoxy resin is served as the base material,fluorosilane modified kaolin and polytetrafluoroethylene as fillers,superhydrophobic composite materials are successfully prepared on different substrates by drop coating method.The optimal formula of composite materials has been explored and the properties of composite materials fabricated from the best formula has been tested.The results shows that the surface water contact angle of the prepared materials was higher than 1500 and the water slide angle was lower than 8°.After a series of tests,such as sandpaper abrasion,acid-base immersion,long-time direct sunlight,high/low temperature resistance,self-cleaning and so on,the obtained material maintains excellent stability.Especially composites with a load of 250 g,it still remains superhydrophobic after abrasion of 600#sandpaper for more than 10 m.The composite shows excellent stability in the environmental temperature of-20-200? and different water temperature tests.In addition,base on the superhydrophobic and lipophilic properties of the composite,the oil-water mixture is successfully separated by the prepared oil absorption functional cloth.(2)Multi-functional composite superhydrophobic materials were prepared by twice spraying method by adding fumed silica as thixotropic agent.The material has excellent mechanical durability,physical and chemical stability,anti-icing performance,deicing performance and corrosion resistance.Among them,the simulated freezing rain test shows that the composite aluminum plate has significant anti-icing performance without icing during the 60 min experiment compared with the ordinary aluminum plate surface.In the self-weight deicing test,the epoxy resin based composite superhydrophobic material can realize the self-weight deicing in 5 min,while the ordinary glass needs 40 min to drain the melted water on the glass surface.The twice spraying method has the advantages of simple and large area preparation,which can expand the practical range of superhydrophobic materials,and provides a solution for the industrial application and daily application of superhydrophobic materials under harsh conditions.
