Bronze-bonded abrasives are widely used in the processing of hard and brittle materials.With the development of science and technology,and the improvement of processing requirements,common problems such as poor self-sharpness and easy clogging of bronze-bonded abrasives,which seriously restrict work efficiency and development prospects.In order to solve the problems in the grinding process of brBronze-bonded abrasives,it is necessary to develop a new type of bronze binder abrasive with good mechanical properties and high binding strength and strong self-sharpness.Many researchers improved performance by adding a second phase preparation compound binding agent.Because of its unique structure,Ti3SiC2 has the properties of both metal materials and ceramic materials.So Ti3SiC2 has excellent potential for addition,which is a new idea in the development of new bronze-binded abrasives.The 6733 copper-tin alloy powder and the 8020 copper-tin alloy powder are used as base binder material,Ti3SiC2 is used as the addition item to prepare Bronze-Ti3SiC2composite binder.Bronze-Ti3SiC2 composite binder is prepared by discharge plasma sintering?SPS?.The sintering temperature range of the compound binding agent is set the strength of the anti-folding.The bending strength,rockwell hardness,dry weight,wet weight,and floating weight of the samples are tested by three-point bending method,rockwell hardness method,and bulk density tester.At the same time,the bulk density and porosity of the samples are calculated by the Archimedes drainage method.The phase composition of samples isanalyzed by X-ray diffractometer and microstructure is observed by metallographic microscope.The results show that,Ti3SiC2 and the basic binder are sintering densification,Ti have different diffusion behaivers within the sintering temperature.When Ti3Si C2 is added in an amount of 30 vol.%,the comprehensive properties of the compound binding agents is excellent.At 685?,the 6733+Ti3SiC2compound binding agent has the highest flexural strength of 252.5 MPa,rockwell hardness of 90.16 HRB,porosity of 0.28%,and the sample is sintering densification.The8020+Ti3SiC2 compound binding agent is stable in the range of sintering temperature,bending strength of more than 540 MPa,rockwell hardness of about 82 HRB,the porosity is controlled at less than 1.5%,and the performance fluctuates less with temperature changes.Based on 8020+Ti3SiC2 compound binding agent with Ti3SiC2 added at 30 vol.%,sintered body with different diamond concentrations are prepared by SPS and hot-press sintering?HP?.The effects of diamond concentration,sintering temperature,and sintering method on the mechanical properties,bulk density,and porosity of the abrasives are analyzed and discussed.When the diamond concentration increases,the bending strength of the sample decreases,the rockwell hardness increases,and the bulk density decreases.When the diamond concentration is 50%,the maximum bending strength of the sample prepared by SPS is 454.9 MPa,and the maximum bending strength of the sample prepared by HP is 356 MPa,which is 21.7%lower than that of the sample prepared by SPS.
