With its excellent chemical resistance,thermal stability,and mechanical properties,polyphenylene sulfide fibers occupy an important position in high-temperature filtration,electrical insulation materials,and functional clothing.The preparation and modification of polyphenylene sulfide fiber is a key project supported by Chinese 13 th Five-year Plan.Due to the high equipment and process requirements for the preparation of polyphenylene sulfide fiber,the laboratory needs to pay a huge price in terms of fiber preparation and modification.Melt spinning technology is an emerging ultra-fine fiber preparation process,which has the advantages of environmental protection,low cost,and low energy consumption.This subject explored the spinning conditions of PPS through the melt blown method,improved the melt-spinning process by drawing on the melt-blown process,prepared the equipment for PPS melt electrospinning,and successfully prepared micrometers by the melt electrospinning polyphenylene sulfide fiber.The necking phenomenon occurred during the drawing process of polyphenylene sulfide fiber under room temperature,the experiment showed that the PPS fiber prepared by the traditional spinning method(melt spinning method)also has the necking phenomenon at room temperature,indicating that PPS.The necking phenomenon has nothing to do with the electrospinning method.Through the thermal performance analysis and mechanical testing,the effects of the crystallinity,orientation,fiber molecular weight and other factors on the necking of the PPS fiber are explored,and the reason for the necking of the PPS fiber.The research work of this subject is as follows:(1)Research on the preparation of PPS fibers by melt-blown method.The experiment explored the flowability of PP / PPS melt through pre-experiment,and obtained PPS nonwoven fabric under the conditions of extruder temperature of 310 °C and blower frequency of 25 Hz.The TG test showed that the decomposition temperature of PPS fiber under nitrogen was 507.3 ?.DSC test shows that the addition of PP can reduce the melting point of PPS.At the same time,experiments show that PPS melt corrosion screw and plugging of spinneret holes are the main reasons for failure of melt-blown experiments.(2)Study on the preparation of PPS fibers by melt electrospinning.The experiment improves the melt electrospinning device by referring to the parameters of the melt-blown experiment to solve the problems in the melt-blown experiment.In the experiment,by improving the melt electrospinning device and exploring the experimental conditions of PPS melt electrospinning,the best spinning process parameters were obtained: voltage 35 KV,receiving distance 95 cm,copper core diameter 24 mm,and PPS fibers with an average diameter of less than 10 ?m could be obtained.(3)The cause of the necking phenomenon of PPS fibers at room temperature.The yield phenomenon of PPS primary fibers is related to the crystallinity.The greater the fiber crystallinity,the lower the elongation at break.PPS fibers with low crystallinity at room temperature will undergo necking under external force drafting,and the degree of orientation will increase with the increase in crystallinity during this period.
